Trump save almost a million innocent people in the Idlib Provence of Syria, he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize just for that. TRUMP 2020.

@tbz1551 Poor choice then, because there have been fires in the North West since before humans arrived, and when the first humans did arrive, they intentionally started fires in those areas, long before Europeans arrived. If you build in areas like that, there are actions you can take, and technology you can implement, to keep your structure from burning. Redwoods know how, so people should learn from them.

@onlineshoppingjakarta7338 I'm 65, inherited a 1960's bunker from my father because of Atomic Bomb, didn't use it, fixed it up in 1980 when Ronald Reagan was elected President, didn't use it, and now giving it to my kids, who most likely will not need it either. You can panic, or you can take pragmatic action, your choice.

What does "lightening strikes", which have been going on since before humans were here, have to do with your concept of "climate change", and if so, how is it relevant?

@mikeboydus Excellent response!

Trump, you damn if he does or doesn't, so we've stopped listening to you. Dems for Trump 2020.

Houses can be protected with VENTS that have sensors which close in high winds so EMBERS to not get in. This technology is being written into new construction codes, should save many houses in the future. These places burned before humans arrived since most fires are started by lightening strikes. The indigenous people on the North West also used fire to clear large areas for agriculture, and completely changed much of the ecology before Europeans arrived.

High winds push HOT EMBERS into ATTIC VENTS of homes where 90% of the house fires start. There are new building codes for VENTS with SENORS that close in high winds. This will prevent homes from burning in the future. Trees have natural protections against fire, except in forests when temps reach very high levels, and trees, especially ones with lots of moisture, can actually explode. It's a shame we don't get better information from our news sources, shame on DW.

@mikeboydus Yeah, but if temp gets high enough, all that moisture in the tree with make it EXPLODE.

@bradleedenney California? No, the El Dorado fire was started accidentally with fireworks, the rest are due to mostly lightening strikes, and others are still under investigation.
1
@bradleedenney How so, it's intellectually dishonest to make blanket assertions like that.

I agree, there are new building codes which require sensors on VENTS that will close in high winds so HOT EMBERS do not enter attic areas where 90% of the fires start. That's a common sense solution, not mandating everyone walk and ride a bike everywhere. Carbon is at the end of its life cycle, humans are not.
