Lost by their own hand. There are maps which trace the history from the 1920s to now. They could have been rich and happy, but choose hate and violence instead. This isn't about the loss of a few olive groves or a grandfathe's bakery in Haifa

@NPCONSULTING247-jy3pz Full citizens, about 130,000 stayed after UN VOTED Israel a secular state in 1948. 20% is now 1.8 million Arabs, they've done well.
5
Jordan was not "created" in 1921. British created a region called Trans-Jordan, but the actual state was not created until 1946.
4
@luqmanibrahim NO, Zionism is fundamentally secular and so is the State of Israel. 20% are Arab and sit on the Knesset, the Supreme Court and IDF. You are incorrect.

@JohnQPublic11 Agree 100% Sharif Hussein lost Mecca and Medina in war to Ibn Saud, no one is asking the Saudis to give them back to the Jordanians.
3
It was a coalition government, Hamas did not have a clear majority, so started a coup against Fatah, kicked them out, and became dictator, no election since.
3
andt that is?
3
130,000 Arabs did accept partition and stayed in Israel. They now number 1.8 million and live as full citizens in a successful liberal democracy. Perhaps that's the root of the conflict. Sour Grapes.
3
Agreed, US dropped two a-bombs on Japan and now are close military and economic allies. US carpet bombed Vietnam and lost to them, not also on good terms. This conflict is not just about nation/states.
3
@eget4144 settlers have been arrested. the contested areas on the West Bank has been offered as land swap for peace. has been rejected over and over again. Act like a dog, get treated like a dog.
3
Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. Lots of history there worth checking out. Amin al-Husseini.

King Abdullah of Jordan fought a civil war with the PLO and kicked them out to Lebanon, where they started another war. We in the WEST have a fetish for the loser, the anti-Hero, which began in the late 1960s. I'm so sorry about that.
2
Jordan was not a sovereign nation until 1946 The Emirate of Transjordan was established in 1921 by the Hashemite, then Emir, Abdullah I, and the emirate became a British protectorate. In 1946, Jordan gained independence and became officially known in Arabic as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
2
@KS-zq7zy "land" but never a nation/state, the Ottomans then the British had sovereign control for 500 years. Golda Meir had a passport in 1941 which named her Palestinian, as a place, not as a State.
2
Is Tel-Aviv occupied land? If you believe so, you standard is not acceptable.
2
@badomen9057 Disputed land has been offered in swap for peace, refused. Choices have consequences. Ibn Saud stole Mecca and Medina from the Hashemites. Should they give those cities back?

@Kamar.chakra Hamas and other Jihad resistance on the West Bank, too. New poll by "Arabic Barometer" shows Hamas has only about a 14% approval rating, this poll was taken a week before Oct 7th. The "suffering" is self-inflicted, their choice.
2
Nonsense, there were many names, the ancient Greeks called it Pale(stina), the name is Greek, and Pales means "Wrestle", which is the same meaning as the name Israel.

DUH

20% of Israel is Arab, they have full citizenship and live in a successful liberal democracy, the only one in the region. It's worth fighting for.
1
Almost 20,-000 Gazans were coming into Israel during the ceasefire, they used this access to gain intel which was sold to Hamas and used on Oct 7th.
1
no, that would not be possible.
1
and that is?
1
Since the 1960s, the WEST has had a love affair with the loser, the anti-Hero, the terrorist. The Soviet era propagandists must be rolling over in their graves with laughter.
1
What nonsense, Poland did not win back their borders by "tireless" terrorism. My family is from the Lithuanian-Poland Commonwealth of the 17th Century. Where's that, now? Do you expect the Turks to regain the Ottoman Empire, or perhaps the Russians to take back Ukraine?
1
20% of Israeli citizens are Arab, they serve on the Knesset, the Supreme Court and even the IDF. How is that apartheid. After the so called "Catastrophe" in 1948, 130,000 Arabs out the 710,000 displaced stayed in the new State. They are full citizens. Choices have consequences. Why do so many in the WEST identify with the loser, the anti-Hero terrorist. Why? The old Soviet propagandists must be rolling over with laughter in their graves.
1
Ottoman Empire referred to that territory as Palestine, only relevance to the current conflict over land rights. Both religions are very clear about the Temple Mount, one religion has a FOUNDATION STONE, the other an ACCESSION ROCK.
1
I agree, there have been many land swaps in history which brought peace. This is about the Foundation Stone vs the Accession Rock.
