@newbiekhyber True that makes Malaysia like 140k+. Good Point. Super well done. But I have to say Indonesia is not testing as much so that number could be very underestimated.

@aNt1P414tAO Relax, I bet you Sg now trying to reverse gears ... before this recent outbreak ... endemic endemic endemic ... everyday trying to psycho us. Now when just a small spread ... balls shrink. Like that how to go endemic? It has been demonstrated already, if you go endemic, cases are going to skyrocket to 10-100k pd until it burns through the population. First few weeks will be quiet as the virus spread around and once it takes off ... its very hard to contain. By then you will only have the Vac to depend on for protection.

@nancynahnigoh3550 As long as you don't assume SOP in Singapore will work in Malaysia. Most of the SOP is assume to work because there is no wide spread cases.

@YRJ-lr9kr Malaysia has about 50% of its population vac with 1 dose, that's not one of the world's highest that is average at best. 1 dose vs Delta variant is still not as effective, although better than nothing is still means people will get moderately ill when infected esp if you are older. With delta you are not going to be able to burn out the virus with a 4 week lockdown. Because the instant you unlock, the cases will increase and seen (with testing) again within weeks. Singapore still can fight for containment, but I think Malaysia just needs to focus the lockdown to slow the spread but push vaccination to the maximum during this time, and reopen as many industry as possible but with strict SD practices so that people don't die from economic problems. I would aim for at least 75% double dosed within the population before you unlock. If you have a slow down of vac hesitancy, just have as much Vac prepared for a rush in demand upon reopening. The country can't waste too much time with people playing scared scared games to the rest of the country. You can't have 25% of the population delaying the progress of the other 75%, they have been informed and have had an opportunity to get Vac. The country needs to move on is my view. Once Endemic mode starts and you reopen after Vacs, focus on medical support open expo overflow medical centers if your hospitals can't handle the surge of cases which there will be before case levels and the virus burns out. Prepare for oxygen tanks and oxygen concentrators so that as many can treat themselves at home. Lockdown after endemic only when your 2nd tier support in your expos is running out of space. Which if the Vac is effective should not happen if mask and general SD/hygiene/crowd cap remains SOP. Be brave Malaysia. Malaysia Boleh! Always! I would encourage all nations to stockpile on oxygen tanks and portable oxygen concentrators within your endemic plans now, until this pandemic is over.

@YRJ-lr9kr Good. KKM should announce and advertise that they are actually stockpiling oxygen tanks and concentrators. Malaysia needs to know your G is on top of the situation. Containment will not work for larger countries, we have seen it all around the world ... lockdown cases go down then unlock and a few weeks later you are back where you started. Get Vac up, and prep for surge in cases and open up with SD/measures and maintain. Mind you have to open as soon as you Vac reach an acceptable level. There are already signs eg in Isreal the Vac effectiveness is dropping because they Vac much earlier on and sometime has past. I imagine boosters (3rd shot) might be coming in the near future.

@mysticcove3392 Oh Many illogical things are happening (or not happening) in the US. Talk about the virtues of following the Science and not have politics in the way (Science only if it fits my political narrative). Politics in the US is so polarised, I don't know where to start. Dems constantly ask for unity (but on our terms only). We will "show" you we care (only if you vote for us), then not deliver post election. $2000 cheques electioneering actually means $1400, orange man already gave you the $600. I am surprise, how the US hasn't collapse yet. I am wondering till this day, you have a President having more votes than ever and he can't fill a 1000 seat conference room. Basically the votes doesn't match the boots on the ground.
