WoW the talk of Privilege now coming from the FWs, earning in Singapore so that they can build houses back home (and some how we are to be blamed for their debt for their own investment risk). Wanting to complain no work for 4 months, sounds pretty unappreciative that we took care of them and didn't leave them to suffer at great expense. Please send these FWs back if they don't understand the worldwide problem and never return to Singapore, go back home to work then if things are better there and see if 4 months without work is going to be the least of your problems.

@howlingwolf8130 Wow such black and white thinking! Haven't you heard of prioritizing? NZ for example are not issuing any more new permits for the time being. All existing permits will be allowed to run out and not renewed. Any vacancies will have to be advertised and locals qualified who apply should be given the opportunity to take the job ( and down the locals short list until the position is filled) over FWs. Only in exceptional cases with evidence that WPs be applied on a case by case basis. Nothing complicated. BTW I think its mainly the semi-skilled (S-Pass) and PMETs (E-Pass) that Singaporean are unhappy about ... there is about 400k+ of them.

Karim Khan I said the issue Singaporeans are not happy about is mainly the S-Pass and E-Pass/PMETs holders taking local opportunities away. Although its unlikely PMETs would be living in Dorms, some S-Pass holders do live in dorms (perhaps not the same Dorms as the levied/unskilled FWs, Dorm quality and price can vary). I was also explaining how jobs could be prioritize to meet local demand first and what NZ is doing about it. Even how unlikely, FW jobs should be offered to Singaporeans first, they should still be prioritized for locals and if they can't fill the position with evidence of trying then a case can be made to MOM.
