  1. 6:57 No, it definitely also was spread by the sword. The Islamic Empires didn’t just walk up to people and ask kindly for them to convert, they kind of waged bloody wars for hundreds of years. While you can claim there was no “compulsion to religion”, Islamic states still used coercive methods to get people to accept Islam in many cases (such as the promise of social mobility and better rights) and sometimes groups would just outright be forced to convert. Don’t get me wrong, Christianity was also a very violent religion in the past (even though it was also spread peacefully through trade in places like Kongo), but to claim Islam wasn’t requires complete ignorance of history.
