I'm pretty sure rural farmers would welcome the help, definitely when short handed, and being they were often the poorest of German society, didn't own radios, nor had easy access to news papers and more likely than not were not indoctrinated, or even cared about politics. Every regime including Nazi Germany didn't exactly improve life for Rural German farmers. So I doubt they had much love for the regime and it's ideals.

I think you look at it the wrong way. People who mention these crimes, do not do so 'hiding' what the Germans did. Most people already know the horrible actions of the German Army and Waffen SS throughout Eastern Europe, and honestly, do not really need exclaimers and constant reminders of it when talking about Soviet and Ally crimes. So of course when these people mention crimes committed by the Soviets, why should they also mention crimes committed by the Germans? Most people should already know what the Germans did, unless they're that ignorant. And most keyboard warriors are not going to go in depth comparing. Now academically, it's necessary. But honestly, often comparing normally only makes it sound like they're making excuses and even plausibly justifying. ie using one nations crimes, to justify other crimes against them, vice versa.

Interesting note. The Book "BLOOD, STEEL, AND MYTH: The II.SS-Panzer-Korps and the Road to Prochorowka" actually shows members of the Waffen SS taking care of wounded Soviet POWs. Many of the photos used in the book were also not published anywhere else. That being said, treatment of POWs was conducted on a unit by unit basis. I can imagine how many of those men never made it to a POW camp, after they were taken care of originally by the front line units who captured them.

@bazzaboy1100 Plausible, but so can be said a large percent of photos from the time. Including many famous ones are known to be staged. That being said, why do you think they had to send Einsatzgruppen personnel to the POW camps as TIK described to hunt down Commissars? Despite orders existing to shoot them upon capture, not all German units followed those orders. As I said, crimes were done on a unit by unit basis, but that doesn't mean they didn't happen.

@TheImperatorKnight It's a good thing. Military History Visualized and Military Aviation History (formally known as Bismarck) well those channels do the same thing, and it's a good idea to do so. I'm pretty sure The Great War and World War Two Channels do the same, though not in the same level of depth. As a viewer I really enjoy the sources being listed as well. I'm glad you're among those willing to do so.
