Katerina engine??? I think you mean the Kaveri engine. Lol Tejas engines can be replaced with indegenous engines later. There is time.

@icecube8560 Tell that to Safran. We are making engine with them. Lol
1
@icecube8560 They have given a date of completion between 2027-2028. Also DRDO has successfully completed a stable Kabini core for the Kaveri Engine. Which is no small feat.

@YanYuan822 USAF refused to accept the F35 in the begining. Why would other countries accept it? IAF currently uses 40 Tejas aircrafts. You see the stupidity in your statement?

@stevencher9968 Agree. It becomes obsolete for India and top militaries, but not for smaller militaries. And I think this Ukraine war has redefined war requirements and emphasized the needs of cheaper expendable aircrafts. Tejas is a versatile platform. It has wide range of weapon packages: Jdams, Derby er, Python 5, R77, R73, Mica, Astra, Brahmos NG etc. Also it is a constantly evolving platform. So if countries think they need something like that, they can alsways buy.

@stevencher9968 What is the degree of Swedish components are there in the Gripen? Please check and reply. Then compare that to the Tejas before calling it 'low' Over 75% of components in the Tejas is indigenous or joint-ventures(prduced in India).

@jbookvoxx Since you'll keep barking without providing any data. Let me do it for you. India exported 151 million usd worth of weapons last year. With perspective, China exported 700million usd despite being a known exported of arms for more than a decade.
1
@jbookvoxx India imports arms in billions. 2.8 billion to be exact. Learn the difference between billion and million😅 Go check in your Wikipedia itself. It says India exported arms in 151 million usd in the year 2019. Learn to read then comeback

@jbookvoxx What question did you? Whether or not I know the difference between import and export? What the eff am I supposed to answer to that dumbshit question!!!

Tejas production rate will increase and cost will reduce if more any more countries buy and orders a placed. IAF will have 83 tejas much quicker if other countries order the jet.
