Comments by "Django" (@django3422) on "Unions rage as government introduces controversial Strikes Bill" video.
This is where we don't actually vote for the Prime Minister, we vote for the party. Tories won the vote back in 2019 and, though it makes them look throughly inept, there's no rules saying they can't switch out their leader as they see fit. So make sure to vote them out next election.

@gem6458 "Moronic" does seem to rather sum up a majority of our population though.

@adamant5419 No, it's not a good aspiration. One reason for this is that the acquisition of wealth means impoverishing others. A better thing to aspire to be is considerate and compassionate. To work with your society to improve things for everyone, instead of selfishly thinking of yourself. There's also been studies into whether money brings happiness and the findings have indicated the opposite. I'm not so well versed in them that I could quote them but I recommend looking into them. I do recall one study which concluded that $37k was the optimum earnings, though that was a few years ago now and inflation has probably changed that.

@Andrew-rc3vh Why are you against worker's rights?
1
@Andrew-rc3vh So when you say you'd make sure the worker knew what they were signing up for and that an agreement was made, stuck to... that's just another way of saying you'd ensure workers rights. But you can't just establish a one-size-fits-all agreement to exist in perpetuity. Even within the same job, as time progresses the landscape changes. So the agreement has to change. Which brings us to this; strike action. Because the government are refusing to amend the agreement to be suitable for the current landscape.
1
@Andrew-rc3vh The current landscape has everything to do with it. Cost of living has been skyrocketing and the old agreement is no longer sufficient. The government doesn't want to change the agreement, so strikes. These people aren't communists, it's pretty ridiculous to call them that, and your suggestion of just moving to another job is daft because our society simply cannot function that way. We need jobs filled across the board. You can't build a pyramid from the top down, so someone HAS to work the jobs at the foundation level and those jobs HAVE to pay well enough that those people are able to support themselves AND have enough disposable income to support the capitalist structure we rely on.
1
@Andrew-rc3vh That's anecdotal, can't be used to make a wider point and in no way addresses anything I said.
1
@Andrew-rc3vh Doing tests like that would be very expensive. So you'd have to pay more to enact it. You'd also need to prove that the performance issues are solely down to inept staff and not funding cuts or unnecessary red tape. As yet, you haven't made that case.
1
@Andrew-rc3vh Such tests would BE unnecessary red tape. And you still haven't proven that "stupidity and carelessness" on the part of NHS staff is is the root problem. Why would we go to the length of spending so much time and money on vaguely defined tests when you can't evidence that? And why are you so focused on this ethereal issue when very obvious issues such as government misspending are so clear?
1
@Andrew-rc3vh Are you a brick wall?
1
@Andrew-rc3vh No you haven't. You're making it up now.
1
@Andrew-rc3vh It absolutely is. If what you were saying is true, it wouldn't sound like such nonsense.
1
@Andrew-rc3vh Attacking you without reason? You suggested sacking all striking staff and replacing them with migrant temps, clearly I disagree with that and am voicing my opinion. How fragile are you to interpret that as attacking you without reason. I would have thought it's equally clear that I support the strikers and believe they should be paid a fair wage. That's my suggestion. And having read your vague, half-formed and inane idea of saving money by putting every member of staff through "testing", I can safely say you have just as little understanding of modern business as anyone else here. Plus, the NHS is not meant to be a business.
