Those of you blinkered enough to think that the super rich are just hard working folk who deserve to live with excessive wealth, you're being naive. Billionaires don't make their money through hard work and thrifty living. They do it by exploiting the workers whose labour actually generates that wealth in the first place. Saying that those on low wages are a net loss to the system is absolute nonsense. They're the bottom line. Without them, you have nothing. Capitalist societies are dependent on people buying stuff. If the majority of people in a society can't afford to buy even the basics, let alone luxury items, then the whole system falls apart. Meanwhile, the billionaires continue to hoard their wealth, being of no use to the society. We don't need them.

@valentine8161 You've been fed a lie. The rich get rich by exploiting others, through the sweat and toil of labourers. Your idea of a healthy, functional society is completely warped, if you can't see how lifting up the poor benefits everyone, yet you want to slash any support that's currently keeping their heads above water. Removing welfare support and pushing people further into poverty increases crime, for one thing.
