@missruzl14 Abolishing the monarchy does nothing to our history. That's how history works, it's stuff that already happened. But we're not obligated to continue with something just because we've been doing it for a long time. As for your suggestion to just "work hard and afford a decent place", you're living in a fantasy world. Working class people are being priced out of the housing market, those of us who work most of the waking day are "lucky" enough to be stuck with private landlords who charge an arm and a leg for a ramshackle apartment. But some people aren't to work those long hours, either due to health issues or care obligations. These people get hung out to dry, it's council housing or nothing. And the result can be seen in that young lad's death.
