@samuel5742 Yes, building homes should be a nationalised effort, not something done for profit at the expense of ordinary working people who need somewhere to live. Because they're at the mercy of private companies and private landlords.

@RhetoricalMuse Sure, but we're also talking about people notoriously bad at paying tax. I'm just saying, whatever way they try to weasel out of contributing, bottom line is their stuff can be taken. So it's in their interest to play fair.

@samuel5742 It makes no sense, when that private option is absorbing resources, denying them to people in need just to favour those with wealth. And for poor return, since there is the need for profit to be made. If the intended outcome is quality healthcare, why does it make sense to siphon disproportionate resources and put them behind a paywall?

@tropics8407 How much of that is down to inflation, and it's worth checking whether an apparent increase is actually just restoring spending previously cut.
