@left_blank Evidence to the contrary. And I don't think you've really given this proper consideration. If we don't support these children, their education and social outlook are dismal. This makes it more likely that they continue to be, as I'm sure you'd see it, a "burden" to our society. And their children are likely to be numerous and follow in their footsteps. But if we support the child's growth, ensuring they are healthy in body and mind as well as being educated, encouraged etc... they grow up into driven, productive and responsible members of society, who contribute positively and end the cycle of burden. Even if you're only interested in looking at it from a cold, selfish perspective then it's still in your interest to help people.
