@PRshik As opposed to Putin fighting to the last drop of Russian blood? Who's spilling Ukrainian blood? How is it wrong to provide arms to those who are willing to fight?

@nisher15 Ukraine is militarizing harder and harder every day. The demilitarization goal is impossible to achieve.

@yowanowich Wikipedia: "The initial concept[when?] of partisan warfare involved the use of troops raised from the local population in a war zone (or in some cases regular forces) who would operate behind enemy lines to disrupt communications, seize posts or villages as forward-operating bases, ambush convoys, impose war taxes or contributions, raid logistical stockpiles, and compel enemy forces to disperse and protect their base of operations.[citation needed]" You never heard "Iraqi partisans" because they were either terrorists or fighters for warlords. Taliban weren't fighting for freedom. They were fighting for their right to oppress Afghans. Many partisans were not freedom fighters and were fighting for tyrannical regimes. They were partisans nonetheless.

The Taliban didn't fight the Soviet Union, they are from the Pakistan border area and entered the civil war after the Soviets left.

That's not true. You realize that a significant part of the 2003 invasion had the support of Iraqi Kurdish forces in the Northern axis, and many were happy Saddam was gone, right?

@ProletarianNuklearWarrior The Soviets started engaging in brutal tactics against the Afghans. Population actually decreased during the invasion. Meanwhile the US had restrictive ROE and troops complained they couldn't shoot back when terrorists were clearly targeting them.
1
@ProletarianNuklearWarrior It wasn't as bad as the Soviets, and most of the Iraqi casualties were provoked by other Iraqis.
1
@ProletarianNuklearWarrior It takes a special kind of delusion to accuse the US of killing hundreds of thousands, then admit that it was the fault of Iraqis but still trying to blame the US for it. Okay, the US was the catalyst. The Ba'ath party fanning the flames of sectarian violence wasn't a catalyst?

They sent the riot police at the same time the invasion started. Funnily enough the Ukrainian national guard just blew their trucks with rockets or missiles so there's photos and videos of a war zone where the invaders are piled up wearing riot helmets, shin guards and shields as if they were equipped for a protest.

@deusvultpictures6550 That doesn't make any sense. Ukrainians speaking Russian only aids them in blending with the crowd.
1
@jaybelle1909 Not true. Mariupol remembered the rocket attacks coming from Russian soil.

Insurgency just means an armed struggle against the government or occupier, a partisan is a behind enemy lines fighter working for the benefit of the armed forces of his country. That's why Eastern Europeans fighting against Nazi Germany after they already advanced deeper towards Moscow were/are called "partisans".

The usual "everything is CIA" schizo cope from Russians.

Hello Glavset

To be fair, the VC were nearly wiped out after the Tet Offensive. North Vietnam had to send NVA regulars to replace the VC.

Except that Russians did lose multiple times more men than the US did in Iraq in Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Inherent Resolve. The Ukrainkan leaflets were not kidding. The difference between a threat and a promise.

@yeahright4659 Russia isn't fighting NATO. Trust me, if they were they'd be receiving the hammering of the century.

Zelensky was elected precisely because he wanted to court peace and negotiation, making him popular in the East.

They sent around 200k in the first batch, reinforced with an unknown number of contract soldiers, unknown number of reservists, unknown number of mercenaries, then 300k mobilized. Way more than 400k were sent so far.

Ukraine does not use chemical weapons, stop listening to Gonzo Listerine. Russia broke Minsk II by ordering the DPR to assault Debaltseve the day after it was signed.
1
No. Most if them were either paid by Iran to fight or conned into participating into sectarian violence aka told to hate other Iraqis for following a different variant of Islam. They weren't fighting any invader when they left bombs in busy markets full of innocent civilians.
