  1. All tanks have been used like that in Ukraine. Doesn't matter the age, indirect fire is important. However, tanks have less range than artillery and the barrels last less than an artillery barrel. So you don't pull T-55 tanks out of storage when you lack artillery. You do that when you're lacking tanks.

  4. The problem with saving the good tanks for last is that they won't be manned by good crews. What's the point of fighting NATO with the good tanks by mobilizing the homeless, prisoners, and hiring dudes from India and Nepal?

  6. Ukraine specifically did not mobilize 27 and under. Ever heard of the Fukushima disaster? The older men volunteered to clean up because they knew that it would take decades for cancer to appeal, so they'd be less affected than the young. Obviously the Russian would never understand empathy.

  10. ​ @FromMyBrain  The problem is that the battlefield is riddled with 600 dollar guided missiles. In the age of the drone, nobody sane wants to ride in a T-55. Any drone pilot wants another notch on his belt so you'll be a FPV magnet.
