@sho9214 Yep, they all protect well against serious illness. However, only Biontech and Moderna help to reduce infections rates in general. I am not against Sinovac, I am against secrecy. I have also nothing against Chinese personally, my wife is, but I do not trust the CCP.

@dasteven1857 In the UK 90 % of infections at this moment are the Delta (India) strain. Astrazeneca vaccine is vastly lesser effective against the Delta (India) strain. Finding accurate figures for AZ is almost impossible, some say 67 % some less than 30 %. The second is the South-African strain (Beta), where the AZ vaccine is close to 0 % effective. I said long ago already, the UK will stand again at the vaccination counters by the end of this year. I was wrong. They will Q soon again already. Sideswitch: AZ is virus-vector based. That platform is known to have most side-effects, with the exception of Sputnik. My recommendation: At this time take Biontech or Moderna (which is very much the same). High efficacy, 88 % against Delta which gets also more common in Singapore. Lesser side-effect, and this is mostly allergic nature that doctors can handle pretty well, in case. My 12 yo son had 2 days slightly raised temperature, and a small patch of tiny rashes around the injection spot. On the second day already he was 90 % good. My wife had a painful arm, a medium swelling around the injection spot, and slightly raised temperature. I had nothing except pain around the injection spot.

If they let the pants down you see the truth. Even the efficacy of 50.4 % is actually to lift them over the WHO requirement of 50 %. The reality is worse.

@tftfgubedgukm7911 All manufacturers have to raise their data from at least 3 countries. The difference is, Western companies did that by themselves, while China left the studies to do by Brazil, Indonesia and Turkey. And that reflects how messy their data came out. However, that's actually not even the point for Singapore. They did not furnish sufficient phase 3 safety data at all. Same had been reported by other countries. So, since WHO has approved Sinovac, they must had gotten these data.

@sho9214 If you vaccinate 3 Million people as Singapore did, 150,000 might still get infected despite the vaccine. If Singapore used Sinovac, that rate could be at around 1.5 Million. Therefore it is important to vaccinate people with a high efficacy vaccine fast. Otherwise this shxty aggressive covid virus is given chance to mutate. The mutations are usually not better or easier at this point into the pandemic.

@luv-nnd Biontech has an efficacy of 95 %. That means if 3 million people get vaccinated (current statuts of Singapore), about 150,000 still could get infected. The same for Sinovac means that 1.5 million still could get infected. There is no vaccine with 100 % efficacy, and also none with 0 % side effects. What however all vaccines do well is preventing serious illness. Can you explain to me what is wrong with you?

... and to add on, my 83 yo old mum had for 2 weeks a black-blue around the injection spot, but otherwise nothing. My 87 yo old father had nothing except a pain at the injection spot. The vaccine btw is developed in Germany by company Biontech. Pfizer is the partner to sell it in the US, because otherwise foreign products would not have too much chances in the US. They participated on the testing, since they have huge testing capacities. Otherwise it is entirely a German development. I am not saying this, because I want to hold up a German flag, but because there seems to be an enormous amount of prejudice towards the US in Singapore, and many think it's made by Pfizer. Get vaccinated and stop believing these comspiracy theorists and quakers!

733,000 people have died on covid in the EU, and you report 12,184 death from the vaccine, a number I highly doubt anyways. All you do is you exploit the unknowledgable people, and to scare vulnerable people. Posts such as yours are criminal, and you should be charged for it, same as this stoopid Mrs. Phooooon.

All similar. You do speculate and believe in things, and then tell others they do, with NO knowledge whatsoever. That is an unproductive discussion which I do not entertain anymore.

@tftfgubedgukm7911 It is not possible to have zero infections. It took the government months to learn this. You have to learn to live for a certain time with the virus. However, it is FAR easier to control a possible spread from for example 150,000 people, as compared to 1.5 Million.

@tftfgubedgukm7911 that's what is meant with control. It means that it is not a spread as a pandemic anymore. That's the aim of the vaccination drive, and really every government. Why do you explain to me what everyone knows? And why do you ask me if I trust the Brazil data? That is irrelevant. It's data the Sinovac developer published on their own website. @JC-sl7bs They made agreements and promises to these countries. Indonesia is a prime example. The contract was to build their own vaccine factory if they would buy their raw materials in China, that's a common modus operandi of Chinese. Part of this agreement was also, that Indonesia performs the WHO required phase 3 tests themselves. Similar did Brazil and Turkey. Other companies did that directly, controlled and managed by themselves. All three phase 3 clinical test then had vastly different figures. For example efficacy, the worst in Brazil with 50. 4 %, Indonesia 67 % and the best in Turkey claiming 92 %. How can that be? It is an open secret that the 50.4 % of Brazil was only pushed to lift them over the required 50%. Turkey as it came out had only 2700 participants on their study, not even the the CCP friendly WHO accepted that. And in Indonesia you can buy any certificate for a handful of $. Now tell me this: If the Biontech vaccine costs $ 19 per dose and has 95 % efficacy, the Sinovac costs $ 14 per dose but has 50 % efficacy, which vaccine is cheaper in the end? Can't politicians even count to 100?

... and there are many reports of side effects, too, from Chile and Thailand as examples. All vaccines have some side effects, there is no vaccine with no side effect. The problem I see with the Sinovac is also it's relatively higher infection rate after vaccination. Guangdong region in China is one example. It is the result of Sinovac's lower efficacy.

@hangtuahhastinapura3052 If you look a little closer which clinic have overwhelming response, you'd see these are the ones with lowest vaccination charge. The way how CNA reports this is causing misconception.

@ke._njil.o.h2458 Right, and that is why I do not know why some still want to argue about it. Nearly 100 % protection against serious illness = also roger. A German scientist said, for the next few years we will have to live with it, but it might play no more role or even extinct after 4 or 5, if we are lucky, and if future generations of the vaccine can cover a wider spread of mutations well.
