@canto_v12 it's in the masterplan for building the Pearl River Megacity, that HK will be a suburb of Shenzhen with little economic meaning left.

@Wongwanchungwongjumbo It is good for Asia if both places are great. It is absolutely not about rivalry. It is sometimes impossible to unterstand Asian mentality. But that is probably only my problem.

I had said that 20 years ago, when China takes fully over they will make it a backyard of Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Dongguan. What you see now is just the beginning of this process.

@canto_v12 conveniently, that means they can later blame HK it did not leverage it's strength. BS. Nothing in China happens without the will of the CCP. I had an expert explain the plan to me when I lived in that area. HK is done.

It is not in the interest of the CCP to maintain HK's relevance, neither as financial hup nor for shipping industry. In 2040 Hong Kong will be a suburbia of Shenzhen, Dongguan and Guangzhou. When do you finally unterstand this? What else must happen so you finally see the picture?
