  2. It is not even about making them conform, as what many commented here. The therapist lady gave the gist of it. It is about removing barriers, for example the barrier of only eating mushy baby food, the barrier of not being able to count, the barrier of not having empathy so you can't play with other kids. The more barriers are removed the more the person is enabled to make his own, responsible choices.
