"I gave this three clicks of adjustment. I have not looked this up" - Ian being absolutely honest in his videos. Love it!

@zoiders Confusing the BAR Police with the BRENaboog bois is not a fair comparison! BAR Police love a flawed design and know it's not perfect. BREN'ners maintain that weapon was the most perfect weapon ever created (just a hair behind the SMLE).

@zoiders Depends on the BAR in question. While it's not a perfect weapon, it has a number of shortcomings that are more of a product of the USA military's than the original design. BREN gets love that it deserves, and some it doesn't deserve. Same as the BAR.

@christopherreed4723 Until you see enough (as previously noted in this very discussion) top mounted mags being an issue with identification. I think had the bar had a better Bipod setup and a few small changes, it could have been just as competitive.

@zoiders Holy Moly, how can you not say the AUG is AR 18/180 derived? Take a look at the bolt, bolt carrier, and general spring setup. The AR 18/180 is one of the most commonly derived systems more modern rifles outside of the AK/AKM long stroke or the DI AR15 systems. The MAG system is developed from the BAR system. Yes the feed system is different because it's belt fed over the mag feed of the BAR. But, arguing that isn't not ultimately a child of the system is a poor argument. That's as bad of an argument, as insisting that the AKM is a direct development of the STG44.

Also could be improperly formed and finished brass (slightly more likely). Ian did say the chamber was improperly cleaned though.

@zoiders Okay, I see where your opinion rests and you've adopted that view. So, this will not be productive in any way. Have a great 2021.

The BAR has it's issues, but if people are talking development of the design than we must consider where it ultimately ended up. The BAR became the M240B (for US military parlance). It's the same sort of issue as looking at an AR180 vs. the AUG or other designs that are clearly the starting point of it all.
