  1. I'd disagree with the Germans placing a high priority on SMG early in the war. The emphasis on infantry units was entirely placed upon the MGs. Their whole attack and defense structure centered on the squad MG with very few MP38/40s issued compared to rifles.

  2.  @carlistasycia  Would you say Americans placed a high priority on SMGs? Because they similarly had Squad leaders equipped with Thompson's or Grease Guns. You determine priority based on tactics. The country with the highest emphasis on SMG warfare throughout the conflict would be the Russians.
