It goes both ways like the video says having a mistress is seen as a status symbol, infedility is very rampant amongst Chinese men. The Chinese marriage culture is just so rotten from both male and female side no wonder some people skip it all together.

If you know Chinese culture then it’s pretty obvious. To have kids in China you need to be married. To get married you need an apartment. It’s extremely common to have a marriage and child on the way just after purchasing a home. Also on the countryside they get married when they are 20-24 years old. Not an age group known to be financially responsible.

@importantsomeone153 It has nothing to do with the Chinese government it's about people buying a membership for 5+ years. Much smarter to opt to pay on a monthly basis then owners cannot take cash and leave. Where does the Chinese government fit into this?

Chinese valentines day is not on February 14th to most of them it just like any other day.
4
Because their leaders get a lot of money under the table to make those deals, they could not care less what the country or their people needs.
4
You need an apartment to get married in China. Also to send your kids to public schools you are required to own an apartment in the same district as the school.

The government officials involved in the decision got a huge payday, for the nation itself though not so great.
3
Because their leaders take huge payments to make these deals happen, they know it's not beneficial they just want a payday for themselves.

Heh so many theories you got down there, I'll throw in the one I heard most amongst Chinese themselves. The Covid policy comes from the leader, Xi himself. In China the leader cannot be wrong so whatever he says goes. Later this year the party politburo will re-elect him for his third term. Admitting he is wrong and going back would be political suicided in a country where it's thought the leader cannot make mistakes. So basically he has all his political capital invested in China being superior in fighting COVID, Changing policy now would mean admitting that he was wrong all along, something he cannot risk doing with the upcoming confirmation of his third term.

The solution is not to borrow money and put yourself in such a situation in the first place. How is it the governments job to save people from their own stupidity? Just rent a place save money, when you have enough money to get a house then get a house. My parents always taught me to never spend money you don't have.

The number one source of income for Chinese local governments is selling land to developers to build apartments. They have every incentive to enable developers to build as much as they can even if they are out of money.
2
it is if your poor friends have natural resources you can take over if they cannot pay back.
2
They sell and export it to other nations
1
yeah but they don't give bribes to the government officials making the deal in Pakistan, that is all that matters.
1
Who do you blame, the corrupt officials taking money under the table making deals and taking loans that are not beneficial to the nation and its people or the people that vote those corrupt leaders into power? In the end you get the leaders you deserve, there's a reason Pakistan is in economic hardship and not getting any better.
1
Then how can you listen to it without watching the video? some people listen to it while doing other things such as driving or washing dishes.
1
No need to patronize the countries, they have major corruption issues. Plenty of government deals are made simply for the leaders to collect bribes and enrich themselves. At the same time the people keep voting in these kind of leaders so it's hard to feel much sympathy.
1
What choice do they have? If they want to get married and have kids they need an apartment.
1
The bank doesn’t care. As long as you put that deposit down.
1
It’s not really to invest though. They need that apartment to get married and have kids. That’s just how the culture is set up, it’s a shame but unless you want to be single and childless you better buy an apartment.
1
Free education, yes but you need to own a house in the area around the school so no, free health care nope, job security nope.
1
Why get a home at all? Just rent one.
1
You forget it’s China. No apartment, no marriage, no kids. No serious woman is ever going to waste her time on a man without an apartment. If you are a guy with no apartment to your name you should expect to be single for the foreseeable future.

It’s illegal in the west, alas not every country has the same consumer protections
1
No it's to protect against burglars climbing up and entering through a window.

Stock market is very volatile in China full of insider trading, property is or shall I say WAS one of the few sound investment opportunities available to them.

Depends on the city, if in central Beijing then yes.
1
It's China, Chinese pay millions and millions for apartments that ARE NOT EVEN BUILT YET. That's just what they do... yeah it's silly and opens up for scammers.

Chinese are staunch believers that the virus spreads with packages. Every time they get an outbreak the government has blamed things like, Norwegian salmon and packages from Canada to start the outbreak. The result is the local government is very mindful of this so they will be very reluctant to let packages travel freely between provinces and cities so what happens is the food trucks arrive in Shanghai and are not allowed to enter before they have been cleared and disinfect the packaging and sometimes they have to wait several days leading to the food in the trucks going bad so when they are finally allowed in their food has become rotten and all they can do is dump the food and throw it all away. My wife works a lot with the package companies and it's pretty much impossible to send things across provinces these days and when it's possible it takes 2-3 weeks for the packages to be cleared for entry.
