  2.  @Richard-yy8tn  my grandpa was a pow in ww2. He was in Mylasia and wrote a book about it. He was beaten, tortured as a game, and lost both his kidney. 1 from beating the other from infection. He was only 17. My ancestors absolute suffered. Read "my life with the samurai: how I survived the Japanese death camps". You will now the horror my family faced. My great grandpa was blinded by a Japanese bomb. He was already death from a German one in ww1. I've absolute seen suffering. I read his book on his birthday every year. Still it was 70 years ago. Ps I'm not a big fan of them re-arming but they are doing it in response to Chinese expansion.

  4.  @blackwatertv7018  you should look up ANZUS. They do have a defence alliance with USA, Australia, and new zeland. Japan has their own Nichi- Bei domei alliance with America. Sooo yeah, not all together but they are all with the US.

  7. But Japan has a tiny army and it's constitution prevents it from deploying on foreign soil now. Sounds like China is arming to fight a ghost of the past. Move on it's been like 70 years.

  9. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with Japan re-arming. We all saw what happened last time they expanded their military. 🪖 The Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere wasn't so great or prosperous outside Japan. Unless you're into forced labour.

  15. @Gino Capella Taiwan was independent until the quin invaded part of the island and slowly expanded control before loosingit to Japan in 1895. Then the roc came in 1945. The ROC represented by the KMT lost power in 2000 and the people of Taiwan were finally self governing again. It's only fair they keep the freedom they had fought so long to keep.
