  2. First it's not oil, it's gas going through Ukraine. Second it's down to single digit percentages of usage. Hardly any gas is bought from russia. Third and finally, the oil was completely cut off in December and the price cap turned russian oil into a liability.

The other option is to halt production and stop their largest economic sector cold. The equipment would dilapidat beyond their ability to repair without use. Keeping it going allows them to subsidise the workers and prolong the inevitable crash.

  11. russia sells at 55-60 a barrel. They make around -$2 to $3 a barrel. That averages to 0.50 cents a barrel. Do you think that covers maintenance fees for the equipment?

  14. LNG is almost pure methane with litte impurities. Meanwhile russian gas is 60% methane with impurities like ethane that burn horribly inefficient. LNG has higher energy density when converted back to natural gas then raw natural gas. Burns cleaner too.

  18.  @Murmilone  LNG has the impurities removed from the liquefaction process to over 90% pure methane. russian gas is burned with ethane and other toxic gases that provide little energy and much pollution when burned. Its only around 60% methane and then ethane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, water vapor, nitrogen and pentanes.

He said the price cap is working well and russia is slowly being bleed dry by the measures. You also fail to realise most sanctions passed were timed to kick in by late December. We've only seen 4 months of the harshest sanctions imposed as far back as April 2022. Most markers indicate russia struggles to manufacture tanks and missles. They buy up inferior weapons from NK and Iran to make up for their production shortfall. The russian ship is sinking and poutines little dragons hord of treasure will only fuel them so long. 1 full year of price cap and the russian ship I sunk

  33. Nobody blamed India for anything. NATO wasn't involved in any of those countries either. Though russian forces are in Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Central Africa, Burkina Faso, Eritrea, and many more. russia is a terrorist state and they need to be stopped.

The russian groups are an extention of the Armed forces and work directly for the government of russia.   35. West bought around 20% of their oil from russia its actually pretty easy for them to stop buying it. They do need it on the market though or the price of remaining oil rockets up and lower income countries start loosing bidding wars. That's why the cap. They can bleed the russian wallet while maintaining stable oil prices.

They made Rapid, Octavia, Karoq and Kodiaq. Skoda might cut ties with the russian subsidiary bit russian skoda still has the factories and is still trying to sell cars.

Slowly but surely russia will bleed itself dry. Not to mention recent bills in some countries like Canada going after private businesses connected to oligarchs. Here a few months ago Roman Abramovich was taken to the cleaners for 26 million USD. This is on top of the 400M USD from oligarchs in seized or frozen personal assets.

  70. Why would SA buy russian oil when they make their own? You know the west has no problem finding oil. They hardly even used russian oil. Gas is a whole other story but you can't seem to tell one hydrocarbon from another. So here, gas was important but the lines have been cut or reduced by 90% or more since December. russia is running on fumes. 12 months until a depression if this war doesn't end soon, tops.

There's a huge industrial area where Škoda is fully responsible for the management and financial governance of a russian region where their cars are manufactured. Apparently they are trying to expand the manufacturing capacity to India and cut their russian sector. That cant happen over just 12 or 14 month though. They reportedly lost out on 713 million in expected sales febuary 2022 to March 2023 from the plant in russia this year. There are definitely people at least in the russian sector trying to cushion the shortfall.
