@ivanbrezina7632 they are replacing the American equipment too with the Korean models. American equipment is their place holder while they build up k2 and variants.

@patrickquinlan3056 they don't require jet fuel it's a gas turbine, America just likes to use jet fuel. The maintenance isn't that special either. Plenty of industrial machines use a similar turbine. Adam Smith of the United States House Committee on Armed Services, has made it very clear the only thing blocking tanks and long range missles is a deal Biden made with China. In exchange China hasn't sent any weapons.

@massengineer7582 m1 abrams standard is 55 metric tons, Ukraines Oplot-M is 51 metric tons. Weight isn't that big of a problem with a standard m1 abrams

@Bitt3rh0lz they absolutely have signaled they want to send then Germany signals no besides, we don't have access to the phone calls leaders make behind closed doors. Spanish parliament discussed and agreed to send tanks, suddenly after it went public it was swept under the rug. Poland and finaland publicly asked. Germany said no publicly. I tried to stand up for Germany too but enough is enough. They need to stop blocking others, their argument is weaker then Americas excuses for not sending m1 abrams. Poland said they would send with or without permission today, then Germany announced it would give them permission to save face.

Many countries have signaled and Germany shoots down the notion publicly many times, insisting they will only give approval if America sends tanks. Sholtz says he's worried about the optics. Finally Poland publicly declared they would send tanks with or without German approval. Germany a few hours later publicly announced approval to save face. German efforts to block tanks have failed and countries are finally forcing their hand ✋ Poland was already training Ukranian troops on the tanks. Germany had no choice but to accept because it was happening regardless.

@Bitt3rh0lz I'm not, you should really follow along the statement made. Germany explicitly has said they won't allow 3rd party nations to send tanks. Straight from sholtz. Finland and Poland have been begging to send tanks for months. I can tell from your posts you refuse to look at Germany objectivly. One thing I think we can actually both agree on is that America also has lame excuses and is dragging their feet. According to congressman Adam Smith, on the US House Committee on Armed Services, Ukraine is capable of maintaining M1 abrams and their excuses don't align with recommendations from the armed services committee of Congress. My only guess is Germany like America made a back room deal on limiting certain equipment in exchange for China not sending any military equipment. At least that's what Adam Smith suggested on DW a few days ago.
