  3.  @HiddenAgendas  it wasn't a bootleg KFC. it was originally an ice cream parlor that turned into a burger resto then shifted to chickenjoy cuz people in ph like fried chicken with rice more. the original jollibee was just by gilmore at aurora blvd before near robinson's magnolia when that mall used to be an ice cream factory. my dad used to work as a utensils supplier for sir tony tan's jollibee around the late 90s or so. his wife susan king is also from the family that runs chowking. the name of chowking is hokkien for "kitchen" but the name is also a combination of two filchi surnames, chow/chiu and king
