  1. are there rice stockpiles also in japanese rice? if it's a different species, it might mean the average japanese person wont get their normal yummy rice and just get bland rice that most other asian countries eat daily

  2. ​ @Kiyoone  that's because japonica rice locally grown in japan is different to indica rice grown in other asian countries. for me, i like the taste of japonica rice, but ive eaten indica rice every day so of course i think indica rice is bland. japonica rice has shorter thicker grains and stickier so its easy to use chopsticks to eat it, whilst indica rice is less sticky, longer, and thinner
