its the usual reaction in china and many asian cities too, i wouldnt be surprised some would also take out phones to record videos or take pics. in collectivist societies, you'd just tend to be passive to avoid penalizing social encounters

@muhammadsafiq441 im referring to all other surrounding countries around east and southeast asia. im not sure if you've been to them but people around here are mostly passive onlookers, even if specifically the prc's current generations lost their morals from the cultural revolution decades ago. it doesnt take you to have china's history to have passive people

@muhammadsafiq441 ah well, it is well known that malays or indos dont like chinese even if not from china but what im talking about here is the low key passive behavior of east and southeast asian societies
