but filipino is not an ethnicity...
3
@mdc3148 no it's not. majority of nationality doesnt somehow transform a nationality into an ethnicity. by that logic, why not consider american or canadian as ethnicities then
3
@mdc3148 the "anyone" you speak of being particularly racist-minded foreigners.... particularly americans with race-based pov
3
@mdc3148 the "particular phenotype and ethnic group" you speak of doesnt apply at all to mestizos, chinoys, kastilaloys, nikkeis, korinoys
3
@mdc3148 that's not fine at all. that is a reflection of your lack of awareness on the philippine demographics lol. only a foreigner would be fine with that hahaha. literally 1 in 3 filipinos are mestizo, and close to 2-3 out of 10 filipinos are chinoy....
3
@mdc3148 where did i say "spanish", "mixed", or "indonesian"? lol indonesian is another nationality. if you realize that there are many filipinos who are part chinese, do you realize that there are also pure chinese in the philippines and even indonesia who are as filipino and indonesian as any other, and that is by law. also, there do exist pure spaniards in the philippines even if you havent met one, some of whom live in the states or australia, just as there are a rare few dutch indos historically in indonesia, also these days living in the netherlands
3
@mdc3148 oh so how do the Zobel de Ayala family, Razon family, Aboitiz family, and etc. exist then?
3
@mdc3148 Nope.
3
@mdc3148 keep telling that to yourself.
3
@mdc3148 oh wow, you've found surface-level info on people's surnames. congratulations, you've scratched the surface of reality in the philippines. if u based things on people's surnames before, now you learn why it's not such a good idea to go by surnames to identify which ethnic group someone is from. in the first place, that is something one learns living in the philippines fairly early on already. also if u rely on american universities, that just tells me maybe u're an american who as usual mostly just knows about murica. what you've discovered there just tells that pure spanish filipinos are not very common. now u tell me if that is somehow the same as zero, but anyways while u obsess about spanish folks, there are many other non-austronesian filipinos living their lives while u're here chattering for contest sake and telling about little tidbits about pears in a discussion about fruits

you're right, tho sadly some nationalities reuse the majority or main ethnicity living in their country as the name of their nationality, which is some silly political move.
1
@mdc3148 one day you'll meet a mestizo filipino or a chinese filipino, or spanish filipino, or korean filipino, or japanese filipino, then tell us again what is this "particular phenotype and ethnic group" you speak of
1
@mdc3148 lol there DO exist pure ethnic spaniards who are indeed filipino by law, what do you call the Zobel de Ayala family, Razon family, Aboitiz family, and etc.
1
@mdc3148 you have any evidence of that? if you go by looks that you've said before. u can look up what Jaime Zobel de Ayala looks like or his son, or even Enrique Razon Jr., or Jon Ramon Aboitiz, and etc. do you think the spaniards just up and disappeared?
1
@mdc3148 look up the heads of their families
1
@mdc3148 tell it to Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Enrique Razon, and the children of Jon Ramon Aboitiz
1
@mdc3148 what are they pure of then?
1
@mdc3148 keep telling that to yourself.
1
if u ever meet people like those, tell them hey well japan is also a pacific island and japanese are also pacific islanders then
1
wala na mga fil-am at fil-can di na marunong hahaha. naexperience na nila pagiging minority sa isang bansa
1
many filipinos have inferiority complex
1
sabihin nalang kung halimbawa, tagalog, bisaya, ilocano, bicolano, kapampangan, pangasinense, ilonggo, waray, etc. nationality lang naman ang "Filipino".
1
@siosongenardmichael1817 di naman lahi ang canadian. nationality 'yan, just like filipino.
1
wait till u find a filipino who's naturally lighter skinned like east asians
1
a lot of filipinos deny their heritage. many even deny more than their filipino heritage. it has to do with the history why that happens.
