  1. I drive through Gary once a week or so. A common misperception is that it's dangerous like Detroit. It's not. It's actually very safe now. The problem is that its EMPTY. Not dangerous. EMPTY. There's nothing there. The trees are taking over entire city blocks. It's just very odd.
