Trump protests are storming the capital with pipe bombs because Donald Trump has convinced them, despite 60 + court cases, local state federal and Supreme Court not coming up with a scrap of it, that this election was rigged and there's evidence of it. Black lives matter were mostly peacefully protesting but yes there was rioting and looting because black people keep getting murdered in the streets by the very people who are supposed to protect them and they're getting away with it. Police officers are gunning down innocent black children and still keeping their job and not going to jail. You guys should have listened to them when they were kneeling. Did you honestly expect them just to keep letting that happen?

We are allowed to change our laws due to changes in society. Changing them, getting rid of obsolete laws or bad laws and instituting new laws is an American tradition. You have no point. I am a single (unwed) mother, to a mixed race little boy, who is an atheist and a lib progressive... Who lives in the Louisiana bible belt. Most of my family and almost everyone I know voted for Donald Trump the first time and are Reps. I know how to get along with and even love the opposition. I know most Reps are generally good people. Most I KNOW are not and would not be down for those things. They certainly would not be down for what happened at the capital.... Or the baseless claims of election fraud. They simply are not. I understand there is a difference between people who voted for Trump and the Trump cult. I often have healthy debates with Republican ideals against my Progressive ideals. Like with China and the trade War. I had an interesting debate with my mother about that just the other day. I know how to get along with the opposition.... However... There are people who hold, support, excuse or ignore beliefs in others that simply do not stand with me. They will never stand with me.

This is the information age and we all have the ability to look up the facts at the tip of our fingers. As adults... That is our responsibility. Some people will always choose what they want to believe over what is true. However, it is not our job to make excuses for them when they do that. Especially in extreme cases like these.

Because I went into detail explaining how I basically live in Trump land, that most of my family and friends voted for him and that we have healthy debate into the differences. I do not have a problem with all Trump voters. Simply the willfully ignorant ones. The ones who choose to think that way and act on it. All their choices. You are making excuses for them. They are "brainwashed". Except being brainwashed is kind of a clinical term and unless you're a doctor that specializes in that you are not qualified to make that assumption about millions of people you've never met. Even if you were a doctor, you would not be qualified to make that assumption or diagnosis upon millions of people you've never met. Therefore, when you say they're brainwashed, you are making a mess of assumption for which you have no basis and using that as an excuse. To be clear, those people who stormed the Capitol Building or those people that tried to take the governor hostage, are domestic terrorists. They're criminals and guilty of sedition. That is under the law. That's not my opinion. Soft pedaling that kind of stuff is what is dangerous. These people storm the capital with pipe bombs, tactical gear, zip ties, Spears and literally built a guillotine. They beat a veteran police officer to death with a fire extinguisher. Unity under a false premise will never stand for long. As for some people will only ever be a certain way... That's exactly what they'll be until you start expecting them to be better. @Altair885 The people who remained outside to peacefully protest, are the people that are Americans and not terrorists. Those that stormed the capital and forced their way into a building, regardless of whether or not they ever hit anyone, are terrorists. They are also criminals in other ways. Like in the way of breaking and entering. Again, personal responsibility. They made a choice to be "along for the ride", as you say. They made a choice to break the law. If your friends decide to break into somebody's house and you go along for the ride... You're still committing breaking and entering and we'll still be charged under the law for that.

If this was black lives matter, which I support, I would still say every single one of those people who stormed the capital, broke and entered into the building and did anything they did afterwards would be a criminal act that needs to be prosecuted, because in America when you commit a crime you get held accountable. It's called being consistent.

If they had spent that entire time outside peacefully protesting... Hell, I don't even care if they were out there saying Heil Hitler and cussing up a storm while they were doing so... They would not be in the trouble they are in now. I would not have said anything about Prosecuting them. This is America. I would actually defend them. Because until then, they still hold beliefs and act on those beliefs to bring harm to others in a manner that does not allow for anyone with a conscience to even give the appearance of acceptance. Once again, personal responsibility. It's not my job to alter their opinion and I'm not interested in doing so. @Altair885 why are you making the assumption that I think I'm liberal because I can talk to conservatives? I hold liberal views and support liberal laws. Being able to hold several conversations with conservatives is just something I do every single day of my life living where I do. I don't consider it every conservative or every Republican to be inherently evil. I however do find it pointless to talk to some of them who holds certain beliefs like the ones I have already outlined. Mostly because, again, they wouldn't take me seriously. Because of the beliefs they hold they wouldn't take me seriously. They think I'm less than. It's already there inside of them. However, that is a no way all Republicans or conservatives. I would even go so far as to say that's not most of them. Most I have conversations with our more traditional Republicans. They believe in fiscal responsibility and funny enough one thing we agree on... Personal responsibility. And a whole bunch of them, even down south where I live, believe in equal rights for all.

You can't tell me they didn't know they were all breaking into the Capitol building. And taking video? Taking video of what? What did they take video of while they sat there and did nothing?

@Altair885 I'm not willing to surrender my morals or standards and therefore there's something wrong with me? The reason this stuff is allowed to happen in America for the first time since the Civil War is because people like you want to excuse it and try to ignore it. You don't expect people to act better and therefore they don't. I'm not a hypocrite either. I would expect that if I get that or if anyone on my side of the aisle did that, they should go to jail and accept the consequences of their actions. I would also not be sitting here defending them or Trying to minimize their role. If they want to come out of prison bigger and better people, great! However, they need to suffer the consequences of their crimes. Not be excused from them. That's exactly why his parents we don't reward bad behavior for children. Because that teaches them what they can get away with.

There is a giant crowd outside of the building watching a cluster of them by the door pulling out a police officer and beating him with the pole that holds an American flag as they chant on. They wanted to hang Mike Pence and they wanted to do so because he wouldn't vote to install Trump as president against the people and their boat because the boat was stolen despite the fact that there is absolutely no evidence to support that. What are you even talking about at this point? None of this ever even happened yet and might not ever. The eyes of the world are going to be watching these trials. You are given countless excuses for which you're not qualified to give and all based on the scenario of something that never even happened. That's how desperate you are to excuse these people from doing what's on video. You have to sign into the Capitol Building when you're going on a tour. They log who you are. They're going to know the difference between the people who were in there when the crowd Rush kit and who broken. That's not even counting the countless video and photographs evidence they have. You're just making up things that might possibly happen in some dystopian future, at this point.

Not made up possible future scenarios to support the argument you never had. Those protests are against things that has actually already happened. I will answer every one in great detail just as soon as you stop avoiding the ONE question I have been asking from almost the start and that you keep avoiding. This will not go any further until this happens. This will not be a one sided convo. It is that simple. You can not bait me into talking about something else either. I have already tried that with you. I I continued on further with other subjects while asking you the same question two times and usually talked about those other subjects but kept ignoring that question. That is obviously not something that will work. I brought it to your attention multiple times and now we're here. You can answer the question and stop be essing or not. Right now, in America, we have a group of radical right crazy extremists that have already attempted and are continuing to attempt to take one of our most fundamental freedoms away from us. The right of every American to pick our leaders. This is current state of events . My question was... I asked that specific question because he keeps going on about how we need to unite even with the most extreme right-wing that are perpetrating this coup. He's making up all kinds of future... scenarios and trying to call the people in the building tearing stuff up, "sightseers". He also tried to change the question to another one he wanted to answer. If he answered this question, it would either destroy his whole argument or make him look silly. Probably both. If he would have said "yes. I would have expected for slaves to unify with their slave owners while they were trying to still keep them slaves", I would have pointed out... how do you know that the unification was genuine, considering their slaves and have to do everything their masters tell them to do? He wouldn't have an answer for that. It's applicable for that reason. These people are currently trying to take our rights away to pick our leaders. They are currently inciting violence and literally killing police officers. We don't UniFi with people like that. We put them in jail for treason. All the sudden it's finally gotten through to them that they are losing and that they lost the election and all three branches of government, to boot and so now they're about Unity. @Altair885 I absolutely think they should be made an example of. Even the nonviolent ones. They attempted a violent overthrow of our government. A coup in America. Those that didn't actually commit the violent acts, still sat there and watch them do it. They sat there and watched them beat a policeman and a veteran to death with a fire extinguisher. They want them pulled police officers into a crowd and beat them with poles. They watch them construct a working Gallows. They watch them carie pipe bombs in. They chanted hang Mike Pence. In one of the videos there is actually a group of 5 men who had broken in with the rest but who had cleared a path for some Congressional members to get through and get out to safety. Those man should be considered for leniency. Those men saw these people doing this and tried to stop it. Those men had to try five different times to clear a path with the police even though they had gone in there with the rioters. They simply kept telling them they didn't want them just get hurt. You want people who deserves leniency, those five men who saw these people doing this stuff and tried to stop it. Those are the ones that deserve the leniency.
