  12.  @FleurPillager What does thoughts have to do with major depressive disorder. First come on let's be clear you're changing the goal post. You're rich no question was what does yoga and meditation have to do with mental health. Every time I point that out you change the goal post. Now it's this very specific thing. That's okay though, I can make this work as well. Someone who had a major depressive disorder in my life, as well as helped my brother (who is a soldier with two tours under his belt) through one, as well as knowing the science behind it, I can tell you that "thoyghts" have quite a bit to do with getting through. If you would like some critical thinking, then how about this... Oftentimes in depths of depression the patient will experience auditory hallucinations urging them to harm themselves or others. Patients have a had time recognizing these hallucinations at first and sometimes longer stretches of time because they commingle in there had without our thoughts. The trigger for recognizing auditory hallucinations is often you can hear them outside of your head instead of inside of your head but when they're beginning they often sound low. The volume is not that high. So it can be hard to tell. Which is why psychologist recommend to major depressive patients to have regular meditation sessions. For this and a variety of other reasons it could help catch that circumstance and put them on antipsychotics at an earlier stage. Which is what happened with my brother. Why in the world you would be so against stretching or stilling your mind for anyone, let alone major depressive patients, is beyond me. It's not like it's a chemical you're putting in your body with major side effects all over the place. It's literally exercise and making your mind quiet. Maybe it's just some critical thinking on that.

  40.  @FleurPillager  That is what you are doing. Considering I just pointed out that I have brought up this subject several times. Long before you brought up the " religious practice". So is the president of the United States shilling for his pharmaceutical rich friends in order to make money off of suicidal veterans right or wrong? BTW thank you for letting me know your real reason for being against meditation and yoga. Let me guess, you're not a Buddhist? It's against your religious belief? You're very very Christian? In Christianity, most prevalently in the Catholic faith you light a candle in remembrance. People light candles outside of the Christian faith to though, right? Sometimes people light them in their house because they smell good, right? Sometimes they're having a romantic evening with their honey... I want some mood lighting, right? Meditation and yoga are only religious practices when you practice the religion of Buddhism. Otherwise it's therapy and exercise. I'm atheist and I do yoga and meditation. More spacifically Yoga is stretching, which doctors have been recommending for a long time before they started calling it yoga. Meditation is calming and clearing your mind . Also things therapist and psychologists have been recommending for a long time before they started calling it meditation . Science and doctors originally got it from those things in history but science takes ideas from all Arenas in order to better Our Lives . It's not threatening your Christian religion sweetheart. calm down. Now is it or is it not wrong for the president of the United States to shill for his Rich pharmaceutical friends to take money from suicidal veterans?
