Russia can't stop other countries from growing because it's not expedient for them. Russia doesn't get to make massive assumptions and use that as an excuse for genocide.

If Russia was so afraid of the American embassy, which they knew they were building why did they have an active one just like it in russia at the time? You don't get too genocide an entire country because you think something might happen.

  17.  @VIPxB  And for almost two decades, they had been trying to explain to their partner that they had absolutely no intent on causing them harm, but they wanted to expand their friend group to grow their country. They didn't even want to break the treaty. Just amend it. Putin is a grown man and the leader of an entire country. He made the choice to respond with invasion and genocide. There is no excuse for that.

The only plans for anything being built over there were standard embassies. Not even middle east type embassies with where they have the big guns. The US was going to build almost the exact kind of embassy they had in russia at the time. So spare me the fear mongering. I do not accept your false narrative.
