+cameronm1188 And when you use "gay" in the derogatory sense you are also being anti-homosexual.

+Ryan Mumford You really don't know what you're talking about do you? In addition to contributing to anti-gay marriage organizations they also contributed to the groups in Africa that passed laws to imprison gay people and originally tried to have them executed. Do some research before your post misinformation.

Theseus Schulze If you believe that relationships between gay and lesbian couples are not worthy of the same rights and protections as those among straight people you are a homophobe.
3
Theseus Schulze If you believe that gays should not be treated equally you are a homophobe.
2
+cameronm1188 I think that they contributed to movements in Uganda that sought to actually execute or at least imprison gay people is proof that they are discriminatory.
2
Theseus Schulze That's a complete non sequitur. Why do you keep bringing up unrelated arguments? If you can't make your argument work you should let it go.
2
Theseus Schulze It doesn't happen. Unless you are opposed to marriage all together, if you are against gay people getting married that is homophobic.
2
cameronm1188 Wow! Strawman! If you know that an organization is doing evil and you continue to donate you are responsible.
2
cameronm1188 Which does not excuse the owners of a company from knowingly donating to a group that is doing harm.
2
Theseus Schulze No. If you think that only gays should not be allowed to get married you are a homophobe.
2
Theseus Schulze I also disagree that being against gay marriage can means you're okay with gays--unless you are against marriage for everyone. Being against gays having equal rights makes you a homophobe.
1
+Theseus Schulze It does if you don't also dislike heterosexual marriage.
1
Theseus Schulze It doesn't matter if you hate or fear people or not. Discriminating against them has far more negative effects than just fearing or hating someone.
1
Theseus Schulze I think saying they are homophobes is also accurate. Chick-fil-a went far beyond disliking gay marriage.
1
cameronm1188 And I mistated that they donate their money to Winship. Winship is their own foundation and they donate specifically to anti-gay legislation here and globally. Their owner even acknowledged this.
1
Theseus Schulze It absolutely does. Believing that a group of people should not be allowed the same rights if it's not based on any actual harm is absolutely phobic.
1
Theseus Schulze Texting and driving is wrong because it can cause actual harm--gay marriage doesn't and thinking you can like gay people while denying them equal rights is not rational, and it is phobic.
1
Theseus Schulze It means you view them as unworthy of having equal rights which sounds like hate to me. Whether you admit it or not. There is no reason for not allowing gay people to marry other than animus whether that is religious or otherwise--it is animus.
1
Theseus Schulze Whether you hate gay people or not, if you think they are not worthy of the same rights as straight people (such as marriage) that is based on animus and is homophobia.
1
Theseus Schulze And thinking that being gay is morally wrong is based on animus and is homophobia even if it's religiously based.
1
Theseus Schulze But you can't deny them equal rights unless it's based on animus. It doesn't matter if you hate them or not--the result is the same. And if you deny them rights that is pretty much hateful. If you think something's morally wrong--that's your problem, you have no right to deny others equal rights and protections and doing so is hateful, bigoted and homophobic.
1
Theseus Schulze Somebody is stupid if they think that denying people equal rights isn't hateful.
1
Theseus Schulze Somebody (you) should also google "separate but equal".
1
Theseus Schulze No, I don't care how you feel at all. The point is, denying people equal rights is hateful and cannot be done without animus--which, when directed at gay people is homophobic.
1
cameronm1188 Yes. Because they knew where the money was going. They knew originally but still continued to donate when it was made public.
1
cameronm1188 Now what? Also, you didn't actually ask me to supply evidence which is easily found on Google. So, now that there is evidence will you admit they discriminate against gays? I mean, so what if they hire them for minimum wages or allow them to buy the sandwiches compared to passing laws in which they are imprisoned or killed?
1
Theseus Schulze It's called a false equivalency, it makes analogies of things that aren't actually equal.
1
Theseus Schulze I don't care if they "hate" anyone. They are working against people's rights which is hateful.
1
Theseus Schulze Yes. Really. If there is no rational reason to be against something (which could negate your vegetarian argument from the vegetarian's point of view) it is irrational to deny someone's rights which is a phobia, and in the case of denying gay people their rights a homophobia. Also, your examples are still false equivalencies
