  2. Sounds like protesting American teachers who complain they don't get paid enough, but only work 9 months the year and retire at 55.

  3.  @myg14570  I am friends with teachers. They work summers, and frankly, they were the worst students at college. Their summer job puts them above the national average. Also, if you add the contributions of 10 years of early retirement, then they are making significantly more than their job requires. If they want a higher salary without a pension, then there is always the private sector.

  5.  @myg14570  They retire 10 years early, and they get 3 months where they work to add to their salary. It is also guaranteed job security with little performance expectations (it is why public schools suck).

  7. As an American, I worked through college. The French just seen whiny that they have to work almost as long as everyone else.

  15. That is because Germans are champions of fiscal responsibility. Meanwhile, the French are okay with bankrupting the state if it means less work.
