@garthpilkey5965 This is actually the textbook example of what Trump is charged with. Trump defrauded insurance companies and banks into high-risk loans. Just because his businesses were able to pay them back, that doesn't mean he didn't defraud them into a risky transaction.

@garthpilkey5965 Fraud is a crime. Trump defrauded banks and insurance companies into risky transactions that they wouldn't have taken part if Trump didn't falsify the value of his assets. The banks did have issues with fraud as most have cut ties with Trump when the fraud was revealed. If Trump robbed the bank and then used the money to double the amount at a casino, then did a crime take place if he returned the amount without anyone noticing?

Why can't both be true? They seem dumb enough to misunderstand accounting, while still capable of changing numbers to commit fraud.
