Would Africa still support Russia if they cut off grain shipments from Odessa?

Whatever you say comrade

@poetryaddict1 Because most African issues can be traced back to Europeans colonialism. It easier to blame unpopular Europeans than Russia - the champion of autocrat leaders on the world stage.

The EU doesn't want it as it hurts the profits of European farmers. Special Interests groups at work.

@theforsakeen177 Neither is good farmland. As one has little nutritions in the soil and the other one requires heavy irrigation.

Blame Europe. Instead of leaving strong institutions like the US did with Germany, Japan, and the Philippines, Europe left their colonies with a culture of patronage and ethnic rivalry.

@AsG_4_ Africa is poor because instead of developing good institutions and building infrastructure, colonial Europe stole their resources and left a culture of patronage and ethnic rivalry. This poverty makes it difficult to buy food on the market like Japan and Isreal do.

I pretty sure prostitution predated farming

@Crashed131963 OK, "John Smith". American left Japan, Germany, and the Philippines with strong institutions before they regained independence. Meanwhile, the UK, France, and others dismantled most institutions, so the locals didn't have a way to resist colonization. Europeans also encouraged ethnic rivalries as a method of divide and conquer. This means that when the European powers abandoned their colonies after bankrupting themselves after the war, the new African and Asian countries didn't have administrative experts or a healthy political culture. Just look at the French Revolution and Weimar Republic as examples of what can happen to new democracies with weak institutions. Also, China was not a colony.

It is called "globalization"

The biggest importers are Sub-Saharan Africa countries. They import food because they live near a desert. Your statement is like saying that Las Vegas should grow more food to be more independent.

@FarsightAE I blame the colonizers who systematically dismantled all the institutions and who only granted independence to their exploited colonies when they had no other option. But sure. Blame the colonized for the consequences of colonization.🙄

@cherylk.2474 The colonizers ran all institutions and destroyed any that could challenge their occupation. When colonialism ended and the colonial administration returned to the homeland, there weren't any institutions left that could properly run a government.

They will still believe Russian propaganda that NATO is blame for supporting Ukraine instead of the obvious consequences of the Russian Navy restricting food exports from Ukraine.
