Short Answer: Biden declared an unconditional surrender and had the military flee the country.

@Bolsonaro_em_Haia It depends how you define your objectives. If the objective was to build a self-sufficient, western style democracy, then the effort was pointless. If the objective was to have a semi-functional government in the country, so that terrorists organizations can't launch attacks from Afghanistan, then the objective was highly successful under Obama. Under Biden, Al Qaeda and ISIS-K are freed from the prisons and free to reestablish themselves in the country.

@menumlor9365 Good point, but the scale of this $h** storm is so much worst than Benghazi

@puraLusa Only the Tajiks so far. The other groups are hoping to flee the country.

To be fair, the names rarely matter for these countries. For example, the People's Republic of China is neither for the people or a Republic.

You can diagnose cancer, but that doesn't necessarily mean you can cure it.

@muhammadm4582 Your oversimplification shows true ignorance. For example: The US knows the Taliban is funded by drugs and given political sanctuary in Pakistan, but that doesn't mean the US can stop the drug trade and invade Pakistan.

The country is too decentralized for a coup to be successful. It will end up turning into a civil war.

I don't recall Obama being this incompetent

@somethinglikethat2176 The Taliban didn't honor the deal struck with Trump, so Biden was under no obligation to withdraw troops until the Taliban held up their part of the bargain. Biden didn't care about the consequences, because he only cared about having the troops out in time for him to make a victory speech on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

@Bolsonaro_em_Haia They failed in keeping terrorists from launching attacks on America from Afghanistan? That was the reason America went in and it was a sucessful mission until Biden unconditionally surrendered to the Taliban.

@Bolsonaro_em_Haia Again, the peace deal between Trump and the Taliban was to have foreign troops leave the country in exchange for the Taliban stopping the violence and have talks with the Afghan government. When Biden showed up, he decided to give the Taliban everything they wanted (plus a huge arsenal of new weapons) in exchange for nothing. It sure sounds like an unconditional surrender to me. As for the prevention of terrorist attacks planned and launched from Afghanistan, you can't name a single one, because an active military presence (even if it is only a couple thousand soldiers) was able to gather intelligence and quickly strike before any attacks too place. Thanks to Biden, America no longer has the same capabilities to go after Al Qaeda or ISIS.

@Bolsonaro_em_Haia Your "core facts" are to "blame Trump" and claim Islamic terrorism is inevitable. Both are just intellectually lazy arguments that ignores both the recent chain of events caused by Biden's decisions and the last 20 years of counter terrorism within the country.

@puraLusa It also appears that borders are closing to refugees.
