@andreasgregorfrank9057 Sounds like BS as the most valuable Silicon Valley companies are less than twenty years old. Crediting their success to 80 year old patents is nonsense.

This can be misleading as many medium sized companies primarily work for mega companies as suppliers or contractors.

@kaba_me It goes both ways. Large companies like outside suppliers and contractors, because they can leave them out to dry when it's convenient. It less risk than owning their operations.

@kaba_me I'm just pointing out that it isn't simply medium vs big businesses as the economic ecosystem is closely linked where medium and large businesses heavily effect one another. I find it amusing your blanket statement about living in America when the country is so big that you can find drastically differences in living standards, crime, and politics based on which state you live in.

Sounds like BS if you consider that China, which lacks many of the advantages of the EU, has turned the Guangdong province into their Silicon Valley.

@ritemolawbks8012 Obviously, you don't understand what make Silicon Valley an economic mover. It is place with impressive Research universities, venture capitalist, friendly business regulations, and a concentration of high skilled labor. China has the same setup in the Guangdong province and this has resulted in incredibly successful start-ups like Huawei, Tencent, ByteDance, Alibaba, and many others you probably haven't heard of. I am curious if you lack of acknowledgement of Chinese innovation is a result of ignorance or old fashion xenophobia. China was able to create the conditions for their own venture capitalist region, while Europeans don't have the poltical will to make reforms to have their own Silicon Valley.

@ritemolawbks8012 For someone who claims to work in the industry, your ignorance is impressive. Obviously, the biggest segment of China's tech industry is based on manufacturing for foreign multinationals. However, ignoring the rest is like saying NYC doesn't do anything other than finance. Most of this will be moot anyway as President Pooh continues to be backtracking on policies that lead to previous successes in the private sector.

@ritemolawbks8012 You seriously think Silicon Valley is literally about microchips still? The big players in Silicon Valley haven't been IBM and Intel for a long time, and microchip manufacturing in the Bay Area is relatively small. Silicon Valley is about software gaints funded by venture capitalist like Facebook, Google, Uber, etc. Taiwan is player in the semiconductor industry, but it is hardly know for innovative startups like San Francisco and Shenzhen.
