The Kremlin actually pays English speaking Russians to troll and spread misinformation.

Russian trolls and conspiracy theorists are going to blow up this comment section.

Russia was ruled by the Mongols longer than they have been a federation. That too would be a stupid reason to attack a country.
10
Fighter jets are one of the most expensive hardware one can buy, and even an upgraded fleet would easily be outclassed by the Russian airforce. The Ukrainians were seeking air defense from America, but the Trump and Biden administration kept making excuses to not deliver the missiles, because they naively thought air/missile defenses would provoke Russia.

There are not empty food shelves in America. In addition, the ruble is a worthless currency.

@kelvinekline5950 With that logic, Russia didn't make nukes -- the USSR did. Should Russia also give up their nukes? In addition, who made the nukes hardly seems relevant when it comes to Putin ignoring treaty obligations to respect Ukraine's sovereignty and borders.

Putin's propaganda on Ukraine sounds just like how the Nazis talked about the Sudetenland.

@kelvinekline5950 What about that Treaty with Ukraine where Ukraine agreed to agreed to give up its nukes in exchange for Russia promising to respect Ukraine's borders and sovereignty?
2
Germany would need to build infrastructure to receive LNG first.
2
What was untrue?
2
It is Russia trying to prevent Ukraine from joining Europe.

You have a strange definition of "fun".
1
@C-man184 I was honestly expecting another Russian conspiracy theory.

What is the bright side of Russian troop propping up another dictator?
1
@kelvinekline5950 You know what you sound like: A Troll
1
Italy invited German troops into the country during WW2 too.

@johnjingleheimersmith9259 Talk is cheap.
1
@johnjingleheimersmith9259 My point was that the West talks big against China and Russia, but when it comes time for action, they do barely more than symbolic gestures. I have little confidence that Germany will do more than a strongly worded letter, because they are unwilling to pay more for energy even if Russia destroys a sovereign democracy.
1
@bachelor3846 The world sees Russia the same way as North Korea. A poor, friendless dictatorship that uses threats of violence for attention. China is actually a threat to democracy and human rights due to their economic influence. To Putin's displeasure, Ukraine has actually been improving on the Democracy index year after year. It won't happen overnight.

Do not know what a colony is?
1
@kelvinekline5950 What does this have to do with Putin not respecting Russia's treaty obligations to respect Ukraine's sovereignty and borders?
1
Did you miss the part where he said the Soviet Union was building more weaponry even though it was outclassed technologically?

@alexeishayya-shirokov3603 It's not just about defense spending. It's how military spending effects the economy. For example, America spends way more than Russia, but their military assets bring diplomatic benefits and it deters bad actors from disrupting trade with allies. Meanwhile, Russian military adventurism tends to destabilize their neighbors and further isolate them economically and diplomatically.
1
@alexeishayya-shirokov3603 Again, Russia has invaded Ukraine and Georgia. In fact, if it wasn't for Russia, Europe wouldn't have a single armed conflict during the 21st century. Russia is so disliked that it's "brother country" Belarus doesn't even like Russia. With the exception of Greece, the entirety of Europe and the Americas views Russia unfavorably.
1
@alexeishayya-shirokov3603 Russia is the ones who developed triple tap bombing strategy in Chechnya and then reused the war crime in Syria. (I guess Putin doesn't value Muslim lives.) For those unfamiliar with Russian War crimes, triple tap bombing is when they follow up an airstrike with a secondary airstrike to kill the wounded and any rescue workers. Russia then has a third airstrike hit the local hospital to prevent medical care for their targets or the surrounding civilian casualties. This is how Russia treats its own citizens in Chechnya, so it is easy to understand why Russia's neighbors keep seeking NATO protection.
1
@user1qaz2wsx3edc You support a president who ordered airstrikes on Russian hospitals. It amazes me how one can not find any issues with that.
1
@alexeishayya-shirokov3603 Syria airforce was in such disrepair that they were dropping barrels out of helicopters. The only one who had precision guided missiles were the Russians. I'm also not sure your best defense is that Russia only bombed some hospitals.
