Hunter uses his connection to his father to enrich himself. If he is peddling influence to foreigners for money, then he deserves the legal consequences. If an independent investigation concludes that wasn't any wrong doing, then we can move on.

No, but Hunter likely committed a crime and his father will likely interfere to make sure he faces no repercussions. Being related to Trump or Biden, shouldn't make you above the law.

@isettech Trump's own attorney general debunked all these claims. While those claims are good enough for Facebook and Twitter, they didn't hold water in court. That is why Trump appointed judges kept throwing out cases for lack of evidence.

@joshuafoster1421 How will a multi year investigation of Biden's son going to keep Trump in office beyond January? Hunter needs to be investigated for the same reason the Trump campaign was investigated--suspicious interactions with foreign agents. It would be hypocritical to think Trump should be investigated, but Hunter Biden shouldn't. @TrumpSupporters: the inverse is true too.

@julesnagbunga1204 Hunter's tax crimes should raise red flags with the public. If he is not reporting payments and gifts from foreign entities, then he is likely hiding that he taking money from foreign entities in exchange lobbying to his father. This is the type of crime that got Paul Manafort rightfully sent to jail.

Even if you love Biden, do ya'll really think he won't interfere with an investigation of his son? An independent council is best way to make sure the investigation doesn't have political interference from Trump or Biden. Barr already investigated voter fraud and came up with nothing. Why do we need to do this same investigation over and over?

The criminal activity of the Trump family and the criminal activity of Hunter Biden aren't mutually exclusive. It shouldn't matter what party someone is part of or if they are related to the president. If a crime took place, then there should be an investigation.

@julesnagbunga1204 Hunter isnt qualified to do much of anything, so there are a lot of red flags when foreign entities pay him millions for almost nothing. He wouldn't be earning all this money without being related to Papa Joe, so clearly foreigners are paying the son in hope of getting access to VP Biden. This goes from unethical to illegal if Hunter is taking money with promises of influencing his father's decisions. There currently isn't any direct evidence of qui pro quo, but there is enough circumstantial evidence to merit an investigation into any wrong doing.

@kilbridemeredith8742 The circumstantial evidence makes it look like Hunter Biden is hiding millions "earned" from foreigners in exchange for influence with his father. This is the type of crime Paul Manafort rightfully went to fail for. There should be an independent special counsel that makes sure neither Trump or Biden can interfere in the investigation that either finds evidence of a crime or clears him of wrongdoing.

Mavis Jacobs Ivanka is being investigated for tax fraud. Trump opened a bank account forever ago in China to leave the option of building hotels there. Even CNN thinks the story is benign.

@NgocNguyen-tk9fp This was all investigated by Trump's Attorney General and the conclusion is that there was no large scale voter fraud. In addition, Trump appointed Judges threw out all those cases because fake Facebook stories aren't evidence. I usually try to be civil and respect different perspectives, but you seriously need to try to be smarter. Some of those claims don't even need to be research to be debunked. How stupid does one have to be to believe a dead dictator of third world country (who can't even suppy his people with toilet paper) was able to plan years ahead to hack voting machines from the grave? You also can't seriously think half the states decided to buy voting machines from Venezuela or China instead of literally anywhere else? I don't even need to look it up to know that isn't true.

@SN1350 Trump had a three year investigation, because circumstantial evidence made it look like his campaign was working with Russians. Trump wasn't above the law, but instead the investigation didn't find anything more than more circumstantial evidence. The circumstantial evidence against Hunter and his father is very similar, so it too deserves an independent investigation. In my eyes, anyone who thinks only the Trumps or only the Bidens should be investigated are hypocrites.
