I know people who work for Southwest and they just can't find enough qualified staff to keep everything running smoothly. Too many people with specialty skills retired when the stock market was at a record high under Trump.

Greed? It is more like desperation as airlines are always on the verge of bankruptcy as costs are too high and prices are difficult to increase.

@brentbeacham9691 You are only partly correct. Industries with few competitors and huge barriers of entry such as airlines, banks, and cable have found that cutting back on customer service is very profitable. However, if companies cut customer service in similar ways in other industries than those companies will quickly find their customers and sales disappear. Customer loyalty is also very profitable and costs very little.

Pro-active? Mayor Peet took maternity leave during the hike of the country's logistical crisis. Clearly, he only cares to do his job when it is convenient.

@dormilon36 No one cares about your poltical BS. The data shows that when the stock market had one of the biggest rallies in history under Trump, many chose to retire. By the time Biden took office, the big shift in the job market already happened.

@carolmarie5105 I do find it funny that boomers crap on younger generations when the data shows that millennials work more hours for less pay. The skill gap has more to do with education than anything. There is a big push for everyone to go to college even though college don't teach for fields airlines need such as pilots, mechanics, and coding in outdated languages legacy companies still use.
