  4.  @PabloTheThinker  The Geneva Convention of 28 July 1951 says one can't turn away refugees seeking asylum. As much you would love the idea of sending people back to the Taliban to be murdered, it would be illegal under our treaty obligations. Of the 5000 asylum applicants, most will have their claims denied, and they will be deported within 6 months under the border deal.
