@tasospanagiotou7823 Cubans invaded Cuba in 1961 - over 60 years ago. The only way it was possible for Ukraine to join NATO would have been for Ukraine to give up the Donbas and Crimea to Russia as members can't join without territorial integrity. This would be a political non starter for the Ukrainian people. The danger of NATO expansion is just a lie sold to a gullible population to justify needless aggression.

That sounds nice in hindsight, but at the time, Ukraine had good relations with Yeltsin, and their economy was in tatters. If Ukraine kept their nukes, they would have had the military and economy of North Korea.

@tasospanagiotou7823 How brainwashed are you to think America has any plans to invade Cuba because the CIA backed rebels back before the invention of the cassette tape? Also, Bulgaria is a NATO member by Bulgaria's choice. Considering, Putin has sent Russian troops into neighboring countries five times in the last twenty years, Bulgaria, Poland, and the Baltic have plenty of justification to want NATO protection.

@alexeyeryomin2962 *NATO wasn't in Iraq or Syria *Afghanistan attacked NATO (did the Russians forget about the thousands who died during the 9/11 attacks?) *Serbs were committing genocide on Europe's doorstep. Something only Russians find acceptable.
