@Steven-lk2ub A tax loss carryover is pretty basic accounting. The IRS lets a failing business move a tax loss to future years to offset a profit. They do this to help failing businesses recover. Basically, the Trump Casinos lost so much money that Trump couldn't earn enough income for over a decade to qualify to pay taxes.

Trump isn't committing tax fraud, and he isn't a genius at finding tax loopholes. He just got a tax break for being a bad businessman.
