Bump stocks just make it easy to bump fire which is literally letting the recoil of the gun pull the trigger. A lot of people surprisingly don't realize that you can do this with just your finger, a common way to do it is to loop your finger through your belt loop and just let the trigger bounce off that. It's technically not a big deal because it's not really even that enforcable you can quite literally make a crude bump stock out of a 2x4 and some PVC pipe. As you can tell it's simply a natural part of the gun's mechanisms and it's just a matter of taking advantage of it, NRA and Republicans said ok to it just because it would make the democrats feel better. Not sure how I feel about it because you know how democrats are about these things, you give them even a little bit they get greedy as hell. My main issue would have to be with how the bill is written, they'll try to regulate more than the bump stocks. Feinstein wanted to make sure we couldn't even modify the guns at all.
