I think the questions at the end of the video attack the heart of the problem: the West has always wanted to create the semblance of equivalence between Israel and the Palestinians, so if the Palestinians are poorer, to the West it means that they aren't receiving enough aid. Everyone seems to want to artificially make the PA a developed country. However, this is not possible – I doubt that it's possible to even artificially make it a middle-income country. Development comes from within, it's a collective mindset, not a question of aid money or natural resources. Maybe if someone took control of the PA's education system and made it teach productivity, they would make a small change within a few generations. I wouldn't hold my breath though. Countries in the region with similar demographics as the Palestinians are hardly successful. Look at Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt – all extremely poor low-income countries. The only difference is that they can't blame Israel for their problems (though many have tried).

  2. This is incorrect. Gaza actually received more aid per-capita, whether from PA money mentioned in the video (40% of their salary budget), or from the UN.
