  1. No, you're responsible for your choices and most people can make decisions such as "should I sleep with this person or not" after drinking. If they're incapable of making those important decisions when they're drunk then they should drink less or not get drunk in public. I'm not talking about a woman who's staggering all over the place and can't speak properly, I'm talking about a drunk girl who's looking for sex. If she's reduced to a child's status when she drinks, she shouldn't drink.

I'd recommend not trying to read into people's comments if you've come away from mine thinking I'm trying to justify rape; I don't like you casually assuming that I'm okay with rape - that's a horrible thing to say about a person you know nothing about. Secondly, the problem is you're defining terms differently to others. 'Buzzed'? I don't use your subjective terms, by drunk I mean 'under the influence of alcohol' and I believe most people do because that's its standard definition.

  3. No he's being fair. These topic tend to attract legitimate arseholes who have obvious issues with women; trekkie, however, is making perfectly valid points. If a woman drinks or consumes any other drug then she's responsible for any decisions she may make. If she steals something from a shop she's responsible, if she hooks up with a guy *she's responsible*. Why if they're both drunk are you claiming that he's raping her but she's not raping him? Are women less capable of intelligent thought?

  5. Well unless it's an attempt to take a woman's life, a gun is an absurdly extreme weapon to use. A taser or mace would make sense - even if someone is trying to punch a woman, which makes them a scumbag in all but exceptional cases, that doesn't justify shooting them dead.
