That's absurd, there's no objectively correct or incorrect way of spelling a name, there's only traditional and unconventional. I could be Ryk Dhaivyd if I wanted, even if I were the first person to spell it that way it wouldn't be wrong. Some people seem to forget that we make these things up - we only have correct and incorrect spellings for regular words to simplify the matter, it's not like the words exist in some absolute form.

***** Can't you just do an 'add to dictionary' somehow?

***** I was checking out your profile (any questions?) and I have to ask, why do you have a guy named 'negroes make me barf' who seems to be all about racism, shocking enough, in your circle?
1
***** Yeah. I don't know exactly how these circle things work - I've got some people in my circles who I thought just subbed to me, like I don't recall adding them. Anyway, doesn't matter - I just wanted to make sure you weren't that way inclined because, well, I liked your photo and that was a real buzzkill...I mean come on, you're adorable (I hope you're good with compliments).
1
***** Ah, heh, yeah <gulp> I actually didn't think you were especially young, old enough for a culmsy flirtatious remark at any rate.

***** Oh well where I'm from that's as legal as a headlock, God save the Queen. Well technically I think it's legal to compliment someone's picture if they're any age...I'll have to ask the FBI agent who's almost certainly monitoring me. Between them, the NSA, Google, MI5, I never feel lonely anymore.

Is "the three little pigs a MYTH"? (dramatic caps) It's us modern idiots that think Biblical stories are supposed to be believed as literal historical accounts. Garden of Eden - not supposed to exist, it's painting a picture to tell a story. People weren't supposed to believe there was really a talking snake any more than we're supposed to believe there's literally a big bad wolf in the woods; it's just a story about the concept of innocence, good, and evil.

If it's a fictional character or fictional appropriation then sure, change him as much as you want. Father Christmas/Santa Claus can look however anybody wants but St. Nicholas was a person, just like the historical Jesus, you don't get to whitewash them and pretend your culture created everything, it's disgusting.

@Spitfire who cowardly disables replies "Race doesn't exist" is in response to the notion that race is anything but variation in colour, hair type, and bone structure. Nobody said there is no physical, skin deep difference between people. I'm not directing this at you but at anybody who might think you had a point when it's actually yet another well disuised strawman. ("Of course santa isn't white, because as we all know race is just a social construct and it doesn't really exist, unless you go out and shoot a ''youth'' in self defense.")

Pär Sekut On one level yes but on another sociological, practical level it does. Blue eyes/brown eyes or blond hair/brown hair could occupy the same place that 'race' does, and may have done at some point in history for some culture - in reality it's just a variation in colour but if it's used as the basis for separation then it's something that exists and for practicality's sake we need to give it a name. If you hear somebody claiming that 'white people' and 'black people' (all labels that on a certain level are meaningless but on a practical level are useful identifiers) are intrinsically different on an intellectual or behavioural level then you can tell them that this is untrue as 'race', as they're framing it, doesn't exist - it's just physical attributes. That doesn't mean racism can't exist because race on a scientific level doesn't exist - which was the unintelligent (but to some, convincing) assertion that the troll was making.

And this is what's wrong with the world.
