[P1/2]My take, as somebody who 100% believed himself to be straight until age 25, is that our concept of sexual orientation is fundamentally flawed. Even describing myself as bisexual is working within the fallacy that there are three distinct camps, straight/gay/bi. If you break down the characteristics of 'what we're into' there's aesthetic appreciation, sex appeal, romantic interest, desire for close companionship, physical attraction and likely others. Nevertheless, if we believe it to be black and white and believe there to be no specks of black in the white section then this will make many of us uncomfortable when we experience it. Many of us won't consciously experience it either because it takes a lot of gruellingly honest self observation to even acknowledge it ("did I just think he's hot?!"). Ack, I'll make a video instead. [P2/3] ...feel *none* of these to our own sex. How many of these are required to constitute 'being into them' is its own debate - you can be straight without any romantic interest, for example. As men especially, we're encouraged to have none of these for other men in current society but nearly all of us will have at least one (aesthetic appreciation likely). Note also that this will not necessarily apply to all people of that sex, you may only find one anomaly of a man/woman who triggers...
