  4. What does being socially productive have to do with this discussion? You've suggested that there's a dichotomy between loving your country and being a productive member of society. There isn't. I'm not a "fucking idiot", you've inaccurately mixed up the issues of individual productivity and love of country. More than that, you've transposed it into "hating" the country instead of "not being proud of" - those are two different things.

  8. So you'd like to have switched placed from birth and lived the entire black experience in America? Honestly? Higher interest rates, lower housing values, much more likely to be stopped and hassled by police, more likely to experience police brutality, far more likely to be given far worse prison sentences, less likely to get job interviews if they suspect you're black. List the equivalents that white Americans face for their ethnicity to show that they have it worse. Actually do this.

  10. Why would she be proud of her country? I don't know if your post was implying that she should have been all along or just that her opinion shift was shameful for whatever reason but the idea that any black Americans should be proud of the country that treated them like vermin for so many centuries is pretty offensive. I don't buy the nationalism rubbish anyway. Am I proud of England? For what specifically? For some things I admire it and for others I don't; I love many things, loathe others.

  11. "If your a poor white in a white community the police hassle you" -as they do blacks too, so it's not worse for whites. If you're a wealthier black in a white community you're *still* hassled, thus it's worse for blacks. "Constantly have to hear how whites have it easy" Have to hear how? This sums it up well. Your problem is having to hear about things, compare that to my list of *discrimination*. False accusations of racism is sound. Compare your list to mine and say whose is *worse* though.

  12. The quality of education correlates with the wealth of the schools which dictates the quality of teachers and the availability of resources e.g. textbooks. Take the least gifted child and put them in a wealthy school, they will at least be competent at reading and writing.
