...for Apple. That's my point, that they take something that exists and improve it while also making it "sexier" and more appealing. There is nothing wrong with that! I think they're very clever for doing this, and they put a lot of work into doing it and take some big risks in the process. Again, I respect Apple for what they've done. I just disagree with calling them innovators, as 'apps' aside I don't see what they've innovated. Nintendo are an example of innovators, Apple aren't.

@tvsinesperanto No, Apple are brilliant at marketting because they take something which has already existed and make people go crazy over buying their version of it. Home computers aside, we've had: The MP3 player becoming the iPod The smart phone becoming the iPhone And the tablet computer becoming the iPad I respect their ability to rebrand things convincingly, but they're not innovators.

And regarding the products I listed, I'll give you the 'app' aspect of the iPhone (and later hardware) because that was something new. But that aside, what can the iPhone do that pre-existing phones couldn't? About hte iPad - I'm *not* claiming that people would be using tablet computers were if not...
